Difficulties for the good!

Hi!

My name is Aelison and I'd like by this blog express my opnions, difficulties and hints of the life here in Germany!
I'm student of Physics Engineering by UFSCar in Brazil, and I was choosen to participate of UNIBRAL interchange program, supported by CAPES. The partnership of UNIBRAL is between the University of Gelsenkirchen and UFSCar (Universidade Federal de São Carlos), to Physics Engeeniring Students.
Everything started with the opportunity to apply in this program. However for this, there were some requisists. The most challenging one, was for sure learning german. 1 year was the time I had, and I was able to complete 4 levels (A1.1, A1.2, A1.3, A2.1). I realized here that is not enought to talk and have a good comprehension. I can understand the context, and many times I miss the focus of the talk. Fortunaly my brasilian friends here can understand better than me, and they help me a lot.

I reallized that thee great difficult is to apply what I've been learning during this year. It's not being easy in the begining, and i hope it gets better in the next weeks =). I really need to lose my fear of commiting mistakes! Not only in the language, but also in life!

I realized that when we study the 2º extra language (English and then German or French, etc) we feel much more prepared, like if we had already a group of techniques to learn more efficiently. One friend here called Rocco, was telling me something very interessting. When we are supposed to learn some other language, we have to think in that language. That's for sure something obvious, but is not easy to follow at the begining. It's very commun to translate thoughts, and I realized that I do it almost everytime, even in english!

Anyway, every difficult is a good way to improve ourselves and therefore a very good oportunity to grow up! I'm really thankful by having this direct contact with different languages, culture, minds! I really hope to open my mind and to enjoy my new life here!
